The business…
Well the first thing we ought to tell you is this, Poultry (hens) make great pets!- that’s how it all started. A couple of hens, a couple of kids, a few eggs and here we are….
Watching a child run down the garden, so excited, with a grin like the Cheshire cat - clutching the first egg laid by his own pet hen, is enough to touch any parent’s heart. He was absolutely made up and wanted his egg cooked there and then!
It was his pet hen, the one he chose, looked after (fed and watered!), whom he watched enjoying herself in the garden, that laid the egg that he ate - WOW! Next followed the questions…..
But how did it make the egg? Well that’s another story!
He shared his experience with his friends next door and they got some too. A number of hens later, of different breeds, both large and small, Poultry4pets was formed.
We are now hatching our own eggs and we wanted to provide others with the opportunity of having such great little pets - and of course the bonus of fresh eggs!.
How many pets can say they earn their keep?- hens can- they produce something for you - and you know where they eggs come from!
Friends my laugh when we say we need some “chicken therapy”, but after a busy day at work or at home - watching your pet hens in the garden really does chill you out!
From Poultry4 pets you can purchase young birds or hens on the point of lay (POL). A lot of TLC is given to the rearing of our poultry and in providing you with quality products in our shop.
